The children are ever at their lessons with their new governess, the granddaughter of Rector Baumgarten-Crusius, [1] whom R. had known at the Kreuzschule, and whose manner pleases me exceedingly. – at midday, Mr. Schuré and Mr. Lang of Boston; we visit the theatre with them! in the evening, Mr. and Mrs. von Schleinitz. Repentant telegram from Richter [2].

Please write me everything you wanted to tell me, so that I can fully understand and regret my wrongdoing. Mourning my absence, I assure you that your loyalty has never wavered.
