R. conceives the plan of setting down, following the rehearsals, his reflections on the institution of the Bayreuth Theatre; a letter to the princes and imperial authorities. Toward evening he ascends to the theatre. He returns downcast; there is absolutely no prospect that inns will be built. A Steinway arrives — “a favour becomes a nuisance,” for it is delivered by the man himself in person. Visit from a Dr. Horn [1].
[1] Not determined.
