In his letter to the “engineer” Carl Brand from yesterday, Richard reports that the orchestra room of the theater was made too small due to an error by the architect (in the letter: Henry VIII.). He now plans to remove the first two rows of seats and have the boundary wall moved accordingly. To discuss this, he will meet with the construction manager Runkwitz on April 7. We learn from Cosima’s entry that the meeting went reassuringly well.
On April 8, Cosima will travel with her daughters Daniela and Blandine to Dresden to enroll them at the “Luisenstift” school. She has been busy for days packing and getting the house in order.
On April 9, Cosima is already expected by Richard at the Leipzig train station; together they will travel via Hannover and Braunschweig to Berlin, where two concerts will take place on April 24 and 25.
