In the evening, Mr Brandt from Darmstadt arrived, claiming to be fully prepared for everything. R. exhausted. Hill, on whom we had placed our hopes, suddenly writes to cancel, saying the people from Karlsruhe are behaving poorly and are even preventing the Darmstadt folks from participating, while the Mannheim theater committee has made it impossible for Mr. Knapp[1] to come!
