Packing and saying our goodbyes, arrangements made. On the train, I waved to the children. R. and I “for the first time alone”[1] in a long while, meaning for the moment free from worries. A serene mood comes over us; also hope the children are well taken care of. Much joking, plenty of sausages, plenty of Marcobrunner – the moon, cold, but a good night.[2]
Sunday at 10 o’clock in Vienna; Standhartner, the academic W. society, 80 young people, various others. Led into the Standhartner house, a warm welcome. At 2 o’clock, Marie Dönhoff; in the evening, a brief visit to Lenbach, then the evening at the Dönhoffs’.
